On June 25, ACFTU Vice-Chair Jiang Guangping met with a delegation from the Lao Federation of Trade Unions headed by Khamsy Phengsavanh. The delegation came to Beijing for a training workshop.
Jiang pointed out that the event will go a long way toward safeguarding the rights of workers and promote the economy of the two countries. A workshop like this will no doubt deepen the friendship of the working class and consolidate the solidarity and cooperation between the two unions.
Khamsy Phengsavanh said the experience he has learned from China in advancing the rule of law will help him and his colleagues build a strong labour movement and better serve workers’ interests. He expressed the wish to carry out deep-level cooperation and exchanges with the ACFTU.
At the workshop, ACFTU officials in charge of grassroots organizing, legal affairs, collective contracts as well as leaders from Beijing Municipal Trade Union and China Labour Institute gave presentations.
The workshop was the tenth in Beijing.
